Forum on Music and Christian Scholarship

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the formation of a new Special Interest Group within the Society for Ethnomusicology for scholars studying the intersections of music with religion, spirituality, and the sacred. We are currently operating with provisional permission from SEM and anticipate being granted official SIG status at the board meeting in May. In the meantime, we've been given permission by the Society to proceed with organizing the group and setting up a listserv.

We would especially welcome members of the Forum on Music and Christian Scholarship to contribute to our dialogue by joining our listserv, a Google Group which can be found at http://groups.google.com/group/SRM-SIG.

Please feel free to pass along this information to anyone else who might be interested in joining.
