The time has arrived for us to invite nominations of persons to serve as President, Vice President, and as members at large in a new Executive Committee, to begin terms of service in 2008. Normally officers and members at large of the Executive Committee serve four-year terms, but in order to align the terms with an even-year election cycle (as set by the Constitution of the FMCS), this time around the President will serve a one-year term, the Vice-President three years (one year as Vice-President, then two years as President), and the six members at large will be divided into two classes with three members serving one year, and three serving three-year terms. The duties and selection of officers and members-at-large of the Executive Committee are outlined in the Constitution, which can be viewed at http://fmcs.us/constitution-and-bylaws.
Nominations can be directed to any current member of the Executive Committee, and self nominations are welcome. Nominations must be received by October 31 2007. During November, all members of FMCS will be sent a paper ballot to record their vote.
All dues-paying members may vote. Follow this link to join.
The election results will be announced in December. Please write to a member of the Executive Committee if you have questions or comments about this election or anything else pertaining to the Forum. Thank you for your interest in and support of FMCS as we make the transition to a permanent governing structure.
